IP’s New Music Friday – November 5th, 2021

Welcome to an awesome new week of Infinite Purple’s New Music Friday recap where we listen through this week’s released tracks to bring you the songs that stand out!

Smokin Out The Window – Silk Sonic (Anderson .Paak & Bruno Mars)
In anticipation for Silk Sonic’s debut album, they have released some truly incredible singles. The album, An Evening with Silk Sonic, is set to be released next week on November 12th and their newest single “Smokin Out The Window,” is an awesome sign of what’s to come. This track has their impeccable funk abilities with their unique voices to craft a really great track.

Heavy – Flight Facilities (ft. Your Smith)
Australian electronic duo, Flight Facilities, has really been coming into their sound with their recent releases that have featured a slew of awesome artists. On their newest song, “Heavy,” the duo teams up with singer/songwriter, Your Smith, to put together a vibed out, laid back track that is perfect for a lazy day.

Stack The Deck – El Michels Affair & Bobby Oroza
Instrumental soul group, El Michels Affair, which is lead by producer/instrumentalist, Leon Michels, craft beautiful tracks that mix jazz, funk, world sounds, and more. On their newest track, “Stack The Deck,” Leon recruits singer Bobby Oroza to sing over the funked out, laid back song.

Check Out – J. Worra & Leo Stannard
LA-based house DJ/producer, J. Worra, has become a powerhouse in the electronic music scene crafting funky house beats that get the dance-floor moving. “Check Out,” J. Worra’s newest single, uses the vocals of Leo Stannard and is a nice mix of classic house sounds and new pieces to make it an awesome new song for getting your crowd going.

Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love) (Purple Disco Machine & Lorenz Rhode Remix) – Spiller (ft. Sophie Ellis-Bextor)
German DJ/Producer, and one of IP’s personal favorite dance artists has blessed us with a funky and feel-good remix of an already classic dance anthem, “Groovejet.” PDM has revamped what disco means by blending it with a more modern style of house, and it’s something that’s undeniably fun!

Jack Machine – Dombresky & Noizu
Dombresky and Noizu are both chart-topping house artists, both with quality bodies of music to match their huge reputation. Their together for “Jack Machine” birthed an ultra fun and bouncy tech house track that is perfect for a workout or high-energy dance party.

Album DRONES – Terrace Martin
Terrace Martin’s new album, DRONES, is quite possibly one of the best albums of the year, if not the last 10. The LA native is an incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist, producer, & vocalist who has had a large hand in cultivating the blossoming modern LA jazz scene. Terrace recruits some of his most talented friends for this album making it perfect for everyone. Some of our favorites from the album are “Drones (ft. Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Ty Dolla $ign, & James Fauntelroy),” “This Morning (ft. Arin Ray & Smino),” & “Tapped (ft. Channel Tres & Celeste).”

Album Day/Night – Parcels
5-piece band, Parcels, have put out their second studio and it is an absolute triumph. With their unique sound that blends folk, rock, disco, and more, Parcels have shown that they have a timeless sound that should be dominating the airwaves. Their music feels truly authentic and reminds us of the great classic rock bands of the past. Some of our favorite tracks form the album are “Free,” “Comingback,” & “Famous.”

Album Still Over It – Summer Walker
Atlanta native, Summer Walker’s long-awaited album has been released for the world and it is spectacular. Her R&B sound has taken over the industry and catapulted her to the top of the game. She teams up with some incredible friends and colleagues on Still Over It bringing an extra level of sound to the album. Some of our favorites are “No Love (ft. SZA),” “Unloyal (ft. Ari Lennox),” & “Toxic (ft. Lil Durk).”

Album Voyage – ABBA
One of the greatest musical groups of all time, ABBA, have decided to release a new album years after their classic tracks from back in the day. They’ve still got impeccable songwriting skills that deliver us some really awesome tracks. Some of our favorites include “When You Danced With Me,” “I Still Have Faith In You,” & “Just A Notion.”
