Good Days – SZA
Who doesn’t love a good SZA track? We’re always eager to hear the next SZA since she has yet to disappoint. On her newest release, “Good Days,” SZA brings her emotional singing/songwriting to a washed out guitar and laid back beat. With some vocal harmony background, this track is nostalgic and powerful just like SZA.
Flags – Coldplay
Coldplay’s first release in 2020 since their album, Everyday Life, was released back in 2019. Their new song, “Flags,” has a nice beat and some wonderful plucking. Chris Martins’ voice is consistent in its ability to make you feel something. This is a wonderful new track that’s perfect for the magical season.
Having a Good Time, Sometimes – Bakar
Bakar is on a meteoric rise with his emotional and vibe-y tracks that typically incorporate a laid back beat and his stellar voice. On his new track, Bakar talks about only having one life and to live it right. We can all take a note from Bakar, keep an ear out for more music from our guy.
2020 Say Goodbye – Paco Versailles
Paco Versailles has given us some much needed medicine during this insane year. We loved everything that Paco Versailles put out this year, and this one is the perfect indie dance track to end the year with. On their last track of an extremely busy year for the electronic duo, Paco Versailles gives a fun, danceable sendoff to the craziest year of the modern era. The song is celebratory and fun, with playful guitar riffs and a beat that makes you wanna get on your feet and dance!
Afterglow – Ed Sheeran
Loverboy, Ed Sheeran, has popped in to offer up a song that’s perfect for the gloomy yet magical holiday season. His voice is always guaranteed to make you feel something, and all he needs is his guitar to carry it through a song like this. Although this is probably the only track we’ll get from Ed for a while, we are glad he decided to give us a Christmas gift.
Again – Lucys
Indie rock artist, Lucys, released a chilled out track that’s perfect for December. On “Again,” Lucys uses his calm, soothing voice and a some nice synth sounds to create quite the vibe of a song. Play this one while you relax with your family or friends this holiday season.
Crash Into Me – Petey
Of Tik Tok fame, indie rock artist Petey, makes songs that are much more serious and emotional than his hilarious internet videos. Here he has covered one of our favorite Dave Matthew Band tracks “Crash Into Me” utilizing much more ethereal sounds and singing in a quiet, emotional voice.
Album Parallel – Four Tet
Legendary electronic artist, Four Tet, brings us a beautiful, relaxing new ambient album with unique and relaxing sounds to make you drift off. Whatever type of music Four Tet makes, it’s always amazing. Fresh off of his releases with Thom Yorke and Burial, Four Tet’s Parallel album is quite the musical journey and definitely worthy of a listen. Some of our favorite tracks are “Parallel 6,” “Parallel 4,” & “Parallel 3.”
