Read all the way through or make your way to the bottom for the full Spotify playlist of our Friday discoveries.

Beirut Ma Bet Mout – Yuksek
We’ve been following Yuksek’s unique sound for a long time now and this release may be the best one yet. Retaining his disco house vibe, Yuksek incorporates Middle Eastern sounding pieces with a fun beat. This track is reminiscent of one of our other favorite artists Polo & Pan, but with the unique signature of an artist that should be much more well known than he is. (EP continued below)

MINE – Magsy
2nd release, 2nd hit, 2nd track knocked out of the park. Magsy is making a meteoric debut in the music world as he continues to release beautiful song after beautiful song. On “MINE,” Magsy uses his emotional and wide-ranging voice to evoke a feeling of nostalgia and realization. Although this track is only a little over 2 minutes, it packs in enough emotion and catchy vocals to get you hooked. Keep an ear out for many more to come from the outstanding artist.

Horizon – Diplo (ft. Leon Bridges)
Think we were all a bit skeptical to hear that party boy electronic artist, Diplo, was moving into the country music space. However, after some less impressive tracks, we have received a song that is definitely worth praise and respect. Recruiting country RnB artist, Leon Bridges, “Horizon,” is a beautiful laid back country song with a nice beat and some soothing guitars. This track is definitely a vibe and will make you question the reality that it’s Diplo.

No Drama – DaVido
DaVido continues to prove why his growth has been so consistent and why he deserves to be at the top of the music game. As part of Hennessy’s Nigerian artistry celebration, “No Drama” was released along with other top Nigerian artists to showcase the incredible wave of music that has been exploding out of Nigeria. The fun beat ties perfectly with the light guitar picking and heavy bass to make you feel relaxed and without drama.

3 AM (Toro Y Moi Remix) – HAIM
Following the successful Women In Music Pt.III album by the sister trio, HAIM, one of our favorite artists has brought us a remix that rocks hard. Toro Y Moi brings heavy bass and some awesome drums & guitar to make this a remix that’s definitely worth a repeat listen. Plus this pairing gets the chef’s kiss.

Caröl Von Holz – Sofi Tukker & Holzbläser
If you ever had the thought “I wish there was German House Christmas Carol” then you’re in for a pleasant surprise because Sofi Tukker gives us just that on “Caröl Von Holz.” Put on your Santa hat and your best dancing shoes because “Christmas is Here” bb a la Sofi T.

The Other Lover – Little Dragon & Moses Sumney
Little Dragon’s dark and yet hopeful sound has been a joy to us here at IP. On “The Other Lover,” the Gothenburg-based group links up with the wonderful Moses Sumney for a track that’s slow and beautiful. The vocal harmonies will make you feel something deep and the horns add a nice extra element cementing this song as a special one.

Watch Your Step (Picard Brothers Remix) – Disclosure (ft. Kelis)
You may not have heard of the Picard Brothers but make no mistake, they are not new to the scene. Clément and Maxime Picard have helped produce music for Madonna, Beyoncé, Diplo and now Disclosure. Interesting enough, this remix seems to bring out more of Disclosure signature sound with a unique twist.

Goldigger – Dennis Cruz & Eddy M
Dennis Cruz and Eddy M are both killing it these days in the world of house music, and this collaboration highlights both of their specific expertise while also blending their styles into one. Sampling Nelly’s “Ride With Me” atop a quick and tricky house beat, this one is nostalgic, danceable, and an overall really fun dance tune.

VIP – Dante & Nick Havsen
Up and comers in the dance music scene, Dante and Nick Havsen, have come together for a hard and heavy tech house banger. This one has major after hours vibes with a hard and punchy kick along with some dark siren and horn-style synths. This one is guaranteed to rattle any club!

EP Beirut Ma Bet Mout – Yuksek & Breakbot & Irfane
(Continued) The other track on the Beirut Ma Bet Mout EP is just as impressive and entertaining as the other. On this one, Yuksek adds familiar collaborators Breakbot & Irfane to make a fun and bouncy track with a bassline and beat that will definitely get you dancing. This one is great for running or driving as well.

Album Stand Up – Various Artists
A truly amazing group of artists teamed up to create an album of covers to benefit Global Citizens and help end extreme poverty around the world. Touting an impressive lineup including Jordin Sparks, PJ Morton, Tori Kelly, Masego, Lucky Daye, GoldLink, Raphael Saadiq, and more. Some of our favorites from the collaborative album are “Give The People What They Want (PJ Morton, Yola),” “Mercy Mercy Me (Masego, The Bonfyre),” & “Be Thankful For What You’ve Got (Lucky Daye, Big Freedia, BJRNCK).”

Album Notes from the Archive: Recordings 2011-2016 – Maggie Rogers
Up and coming sweetheart, Maggie Rogers, has released a slew of tracks recorded over the last ten years to give us something to listen to while we wait for her new music. These tracks highlight the deepness and abilities of Maggie Rogers to craft emotionally powerful songs that don’t need huge amounts of production. Some of our favorites are “Celadon & Gold,” “Together,” & “Little Joys.”
